On October 28, 2006, STATkids was featured in an article on 6abc.com about Halloween food allergy safety. Robin Davison, founder of STATkids, gives some tips on how to avoid trouble during the holidays.

“Davison says it’s important to protect the self-esteem of allergic kids during “food holidays,” such as Halloween. They already feel different, or excluded because they may not be able to eat cookies and birthday cake like everybody else. Davison says there’s a lot of food around at this time of year. So parents have to be sure schools, and homes their children might go to are aware of the dangers. And beware AFTER Halloween too – that unlabelled candy shows up in lunch bags and snack bowls.”
